Field + Foundry Co. started with a simple idea: the best things carry a little history, even when they're brand new.

We draw from botanical gardens, old field guides, weathered workshops, and the kind of hand-drawn illustration you'd find tucked in a forgotten sketchbook, then turn it into apparel built for people who notice details like that. The ones who stop mid-hike because a leaf pattern looked interesting. The ones who read the little placard at the botanical garden even when nobody's grading them on it.

We're for the ones who spend their weekends propagating monsteras, restoring old furniture, hiking state parks, or wandering antique stores just to see what's there. Makers, gardeners, tinkerers, and anyone who finds as much beauty in a well-used tool as they do in a wildflower.

And yes, somewhere between our love of vintage field guides and one too many late nights sketching by lamplight, a few aliens found their way into the collection. We can't fully explain it. One of us swears they saw something hovering over the trail on a hike a few years back, right around the time we started sketching plant anatomy for fun. Might've been a weather balloon. Might've been something checking out our monstera collection. Either way, we figure the same curiosity that makes you crouch down to look at a mushroom ring is the same curiosity that makes you wonder what's out past the treeline, or past the atmosphere. So a few of our pieces lean into that. Consider it the field guide entry for the stuff we haven't fully identified yet.

Every piece starts with good materials and honest construction: soft, durable, made to hold up to actual wear rather than just look good on a shelf. We're not chasing trends. We're building something closer to an archive: field notes, botanical sketches, odd specimens, and stories collected from the place where nature meets craft (and, apparently, the occasional close encounter).

If you've ever caught yourself explaining to a stranger why your snake plant is thriving, or why you keep an old hand plane you'll probably never use, or why you're pretty sure something was watching you from the ridge that one evening, you're already one of us. This isn't just a shirt. It's a small signal to the rest of the field notes crowd that you notice things too.

This is clothing for slow living with a little rugged edge, and maybe one eye on the sky. We think that's worth making well.
